Light White Industrial
White offers calm and focus
I am constantly lured by white. Since white is the extreme end of the visual spectrum (in terms of both hue and shade), and since white objects–such as clouds, snow and flowers–appear often in nature, it has frequent symbolism. Human culture has many references to white, often related to purity and cleanness, whilst the high contrast between white and black is often used to represent opposite extremes. White and its subtle more earthy counterparts are unique in their ability to pop brighter colors.
The use of white in this work space offers calm and focus even with the presence of clutter. The clean soft natural backdrop seems to levitate the object in the room.
Look how lovely and simple this bathroom is. The off white stone sink, the white marble shower tile and the natural accessories are just gentle punctuations in the space.
White on white on white. White cabinets, white counter tops, and a subtle white coffered ceiling. This kitchen is so clean you just know the food prepared here is healthy. I love how the industrial pendants have a strong utilitarian presence and the food items create a pop of freshness.
Look how the white floor, walls and glossy white floor clean up this slightly industrial space. The tall heavy black framed windows seem like art pieces on the wall. The furniture arrangement and the pillows are so inviting bringing focus to the room. It feels like a modern take on the drawing room.
This more old world white application is so elemental in its presence. You can almost feel and smell the ocean breezes. The soft colored ethnic patterned floor pillows are so harmonious in the space.
We should never over look the laundry room. Again clean and pristine rules the day. Why not turn a chore into a pleasure. I love the stainless steel washer and dryer. Commercial and generous.
The barn door is my favorite solution to the pocket door. Form follows function and the added texture and the hardware add so much. Saving space while being functional.
Moving into a shade of grey accented by white and punctuated by light natural butcher block counter tops this pantry area is the perfect host to the primary colored dishes and colorful food stuffs. The subtle reflective qualities of these finishes is lovely. I am always drawn to the clean lines of the hardware free cabinets creating a low maintenance and easy to clean situation.
